The GBG GO Investigation portal allows you to delete a journey session on demand, without waiting for your automated data retention schedule. This helps you meet data privacy and GDPR obligations, such as responding to a request to erase personal data. You can delete an entire session, or delete only specific categories of personal data.
To delete a journey session, your account needs the delete journey sessions permission. Contact your GBG account manager, or an organization member with admin privileges, if the Delete journey session option is not available to you.
Deleting a journey session permanently removes its data, including personal information, documents, and biometrics. You cannot recover deleted data.

Delete an entire session

Deleting an entire session removes the session record and all of its data. To delete an entire journey session:
  1. Log in to your GBG GO account.
  2. Click Investigation. The Investigation portal opens.
  3. Click either the Production Environment or Preview Environment tab to select the environment that the journey ran in. For more information, refer to Investigate overview.
  4. Click the Session ID of the session that you want to delete data from. If you cannot see the session, click Add Filter to narrow down the session list, then click the Session ID. The session details page opens. For more information, refer to View journey sessions.
  5. Click Delete journey session. The Delete journey session dialog appears.
  6. Select Delete entire session.
  7. Click Delete session. A confirmation dialog appears.
  8. Click Delete.

Delete specific session data

Deleting specific data removes only the categories that you select, and keeps the session record for audit and operational purposes. To delete specific data from a journey session:
  1. Follow steps 1 to 5 in Delete an entire session to open the Delete journey session dialog.
  2. Select Delete specific data.
  3. Select the data that you want to delete: Personal information, Documents, or Biometrics. You can select more than one.
  4. Click Delete selected data. A confirmation dialog appears.
  5. Click Delete.
GBG GO records every deletion in the audit log, including what you deleted and who deleted it. To review this, navigate to the Audit log tab. For more information, refer to View details of a journey session.
