Manage data retention policies
In the Settings, you can configure your data retention policies, which control how long data are stored in the GBG GO platform. After a specific number of months, information is permanently deleted from the system.
Set data retention period
This setting applies to all stored data unless you override it with a specific data retention policy.
To set the global data retention period:
- In GBG GO, click Settings. The Settings pane is displayed with the Data Retention tab in front.
- In Retention period, select the number of months to retain personal data. Default is one month.
Set specific data retention periods
These settings allow you to change the amount of time specific types of data are retained. No specific data retention policy length can exceed the global data policy length. For example, if the Retention period is 2 months, then you cannot set the Documents retention period to 4 months.
To set specific data retention periods:
- In GBG GO, click Settings. The Settings pane is displayed with the Data Retention tab in front.
- Select the number of months to retain the following types of data:
- Name, DOB, SSN - Names, dates of birth, and social security numbers
- Selfie & user images - Face images uploaded to prove the person is alive
- Documents - Any documents such as driver’s licences or passports
