# How to rename evaluation nodes

> Give evaluation nodes in your GBG Go journeys descriptive names so you can tell decision points apart in the journey builder.

When a journey has several evaluation nodes, a descriptive name for each one helps you tell the decision points apart. For example, you can name one node "Document check" and another "PEPs and Sanctions check".

This guide shows you how to rename an evaluation node in the journey builder.

## Before you begin

Ensure you have:

* Access to the GBG Go platform.
* A journey that contains an evaluation node, or a journey you can add one to.

## Rename an evaluation node

To rename an evaluation node:

1. Log in to the GBG Go platform.
2. Open an existing journey in the journey builder, or [create a new journey](/docs/go-v1/platform/journey-builder/create-journey).
3. Click an existing evaluation node, or [add an evaluation node](/docs/go-v1/platform/journey-builder/set-up-evaluation#add-evaluation-to-your-journey) and then click it. The **Evaluation** panel opens.
4. In the **Label** field, enter a new name for the node.
5. Click anywhere on the canvas.

   The evaluation node displays the new name on the canvas.

<Note>
  Custom evaluation node names appear on both the journey builder canvas and the Investigation Portal. This helps risk analysts audit automated decision paths.
</Note>

## What's next?

The new name stays in your draft until you publish the journey.

* **[Publish journeys](/docs/go-v1/platform/journey-builder/publish-journey)**: Deploy your journey to apply your changes.
